Ondo To Host Portable For Ogun Festival

Ondo town, the bubbling center of the sunshine state is getting ready for a fiery celebration as the city will on the 11th of September, come alive with music, dance, and cultural splendor for the annual Ogun festival.

This year’s celebration will be witnessing performance by popular singer Portable who has promise to ignite that atmosphere with his scintillating songs.

The artiste will be performing at the White Rock Hotel on the eve of the festival which is the 11th.

Already, preparations are in top gear to host the Zazoo Zeh crooner at the hotel venue in Ondo city, in the state.

According to the MD/CEO of the hotel, Chief Kenny Duyile, he states that inviting top artistes to celebrate with his people is his own way of adding cultural value to his state. He said further that apart from the artiste he is bringing, he has also contributed in one way or the other to both the social and economic health of the state.

It can be recalled that the last celebration had Alhaji Abass Akande Obesere, the Fuji music legend known as Omorapala,.

Centre Commends Rivers Police Over Arrest of Notorious Dynamite Expert Linked to Pro-Wike Group

The Coalition for Human Rights Advocacy in Africa (CHRADA) has praised the Rivers State Police Command for apprehending Preye Josiah, a notorious dynamite expert linked to several high-profile crimes.

In a statement signed by Dr. Joyce Idakwo, the Centre hailed the efforts of the Police but demanded prompt action against his sponsors and collaborators. 

Furthermore, CHRADA emphasised that those hiding in President Bola Tinubu's cabinet or the National Assembly, who are suspected to be involved in these criminal activities, deserve to be arrested by the police.

The organisation stressed that no one should be above the law, regardless of their position or influence.

The Centre, therefore, urged the police to arrest everyone mentioned by Preye as his collaborators, as available information shows that they are well-known but highly placed.

"We applaud the police for their efforts in bringing this criminal to justice, particularly after he was severely injured during a failed explosion while accompanying Pro-Wike supporters in a protest along the Port Harcourt – Aba Expressway on June 25th, 2024," the statement said. 

"It is noteworthy that Preye was arrested while in the company of Pro-Wike supporters, who have pledged to make Rivers State ungovernable for Governor Simi Fubara.

"This revelation raises serious concerns about the involvement of political elements in the orchestration of violence and criminal activities in the state."

The Centre, therefore, urged the Police to investigate the extent of Preye's involvement with the Pro-Wike supporters and to determine whether some other individuals or groups have been supporting his criminal activities.

"It is unacceptable that individuals who have enabled and supported such heinous crimes remain at large," Idakwo added. 

"The recent attack on the Action Peoples Party (APP) office in Port Harcourt is a stark reminder of the dangers posed by these individuals.

"If they are not held accountable, it will only be a matter of time before they recruit other bomb experts to terrorize the peace-loving people of Rivers State.

"We acknowledge that the police took over two months to arrest Preye, but we encourage them to salvage their image by arresting and prosecuting his sponsors and collaborators, including those within the Pro-Wike supporters.

"CHRADA vows to ensure that those behind this evil act pay dearly and will be dragged before the International Criminal Court. We demand justice for the people of Rivers State and urge the police to leave no stone unturned in ensuring that all those involved in these crimes are brought to justice.

"The people of Rivers State deserve to live in peace and security, and it is the responsibility of the police and other law enforcement agencies to ensure that this is achieved."

Bashir Hadeja confesses to plots to destabilise Nigeria

An alleged mastermind of the #EndBadGoernanceInNigeria, Bashir Hadejia has been naming other masterminds of the violent protests as he confessed to their part of a plot to destabilize Nigeria following his arrest by the police for treason, subversive activities against the Nigerian government, Trans-border gun-running, heist and other transnational crimes.

The suspect was caught with documents that incriminated him of impersonation, including tracking documents of high-profile personalities and an international passport of the Republic of Vanuatu valid till 14th of September, 2030.

A source familiar with Hedejia’s confession revealed he named the Minister of Defence, Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, Governor Dauda Lawal Dare of Zamfara State and the publisher of PointBlank News, Jackson Ude as co-mastermind of a comprehensive plot to destabilise Nigeria.

He also named a former National Security Adviser, General Aliyu Gusau as the chief sponsor of the protest. Gusau is one of the key elements in the intelligence network coordinating the duo of Lawal and Badaru who have been involved in the destabilisation plot.

The police arrested Hadeja on the strength of intelligence reports that linked him to smuggling large caches of weapons and large bars of gold traced to the Central Bank of Libya. 

In addition to indicting Gusau, Badaru, Lawal and Ude, Hadejia’s confession to f being involved in aiding terrorism and other forms of criminality in northern Nigeria also implicated his alleged sponsors mostly from the northern states with other politicians from the Southern parts of the country.

In the course of interrogations, Hadejia also confessed to security operatives how his group sponsored a large number of youths who participated in the just concluded #EndBadGovernance Protests in Kano, Kaduna, Jigawa and Abuja and distributed the Russian flags seen during the protests.

Previous reports had named Bashir Hadejia, Badaru, Lawal and Ude as persons of interest and the brains behind the instability threatening Nigeria.

Ude, who is a fugitive in the United States has sought to deflect attention from the group by accusing some past and present public office of being responsible for making the Russian flags held by some protesters at the #EndBadGovernanceInNigeria protests in some northern cities.

His claim was later exposed as a false flag operation meant to divert attention from the Minister of Defence, Mohammed Badaru Abubakar and Governor Dauda Lawal Dare of Zamfara State, co-masterminds of the unsettling developments in northern parts of the country.

A source has said “The trio of Badaru, Lawal and Hadejia, are the real terrorists who want to pull Asiwaju’s government down. It has taken on an air of treason the way they involved a junta leader from another country and also sponsored protesters to fly Russian flags in Nigeria. It is something that the military and law enforcement agencies should not ignore.”
